Artist Jeremy Hutchison and curator Emily Pethick, director of The Showroom London, discuss the role of the user in art and design.
More than about products, contemporary designers and artists think about the social process that evolves through the design of objects and spaces. Since the 1950s, experiments with open-ended forms and adaptable designs re-imagined the user as an active participant in the designed environment. This talk was the first in the Art and Design series and looked at the role of the user in art and design.
This talk was supported by the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and Above and Beyond.
