In depth workshops

Art is a space to play, to experiment, to rethink and reimagine the world. It’s a space to challenge assumptions and try on new identities. Art does not require skill, technique or knowledge, but does require space, engagement and conversation. Our workshops create opportunities for young people to explore art in all its forms to try out new ideas, ask questions and form opinions.

Our workshops are led by practicing artists from across the country. They represent our ambition to bring together artists and young people to explore, question and learn from one another. Current artists include: Lily Keal, Ali Eisa, Beth Collar, Oliver Sutherland, Tom Pope, India Rose Harvey, Laurie Lax, Rachael Clerke and Karanjit Panesar.

Every workshop is unique; designed to suit the age, interests and requirements of your group, and will take place either at the gallery or at your school.

“The students flourished away from the restraints of the curriculum and their usual projects. They enjoyed the learn by doing approach and the fun, fluid aspects of the workshops – they could express themselves, develop as young artists and be brave” – Laura Maley, Digitech Studio School, Bristol

It was great for the students to work in different settings away from the classroom. Student activities were so varied that it helped maintain their interest and focus. They experienced a different way of working that was a lot less teacher led.” – Rachel Taylor Evans, Bristol Brunel Academy
