Arnolfini cafe bar goes fairtrade
"Offering fairtrade is something that we know is important to our own staff as well as our customers- it's something that we all felt very strongly that was the right thing to do at Arnolfini," says Will Holmes, Arnolfini's café bar Manager.
The move has been possible as Arnolfini took over the running of its café bar from Searcy's in May. Jenny Foster from Bristol Fairtrade Network helped the team work through the options and identify suppliers and in line with Arnolfini's commitment to local producers and suppliers, Clifton Coffee (based in Clifton, Bristol) have been selected.
'Fairtrade is superb quality and I hope that Arnolfini customers will enjoy their drinks even more, knowing that producers in the developing world are getting a fair price and can guarantee a future for their families. I am delighted that Arnolfini has joined the growing numbers of Fairtrade businesses in Bristol.' Jenny Foster, Bristol Fairtrade Network Co-ordinator
The move comes as Arnolfini screen Black Gold (U), an eye-opening documentary about the multinational coffee companies. The screenings are from 29 June- 5 July and Fairtrade directories will be available after the event. Go to here for more about the film.
