New look and new partnership for the Cafe Bar
We have teamed up with Barny Haughton, a leading light in the Bristol restaurant scene for more than 20 years, to run the Cafe Bar.
The team are already in place running the new venture, with the two organisations working together to create their vision for the popular café bar. There will be an Italian focus to the food, with the emphasis on local fresh produce and sustainable practices.
The new team have already made changes with a restyling of the café bar; where the previously red décor has turned to white, and newspapers, Wi-Fi access and music have all been added.
“We have big and exciting plans for the future,” explains Barny Haughton. “We’re looking to recreate the café bar community here at Arnolfini We welcome any input from Arnolfini’s visitors, or indeed from any resident of Bristol. We want to put the Arnolfini café on the map as a great place to eat and drink for the everybody in the city, as well as being a valued extra resource for Arnolfini’s staff and visitors.”
Tom Trevor, Director at Arnolfini says
“We are very excited about this partnership and are looking forward to creating a really unique café bar with Barny, and his talented team. I have enormous respect for what Barny has achieved, with his commitment to locally-sourced produce and sustainable practices, and, above all, really delicious food! We are fortunate to be in one of the best locations in Bristol, situated on the harbourside facing west. When Arnolfini moved here in 1975 the docks were completely run down, but now the revitalised harbourside is a focal point for Bristol’s social and cultural life. Working in collaboration with Barny and his team, the aim will be to create a real sense of community around the café bar, which is a special place for many.”
Visitors can also look forward to additional themed menus complementing events at Arnolfini. There is a fascinating collection of archive posters from previous Arnolfini events on the café bar walls now until November.
