Artist Proposals

Arnolfini’s exhibition programme is planned up to three years in advance, with all projects devised by the in-house team, working in partnership with invited individuals and institutions. It is therefore not possible to accommodate proposals at this time. Similarly since our workshops and events are created to compliment the programme as a whole, it is rare for us to be able to accept submissions.

If you are an artist and would like to find out more about our artist development offers, then we would advise you to sign up to our free e-newsletter via the Arnolfini website homepage, to be kept up to date with future events and opportunities. We also recommend online resources such as re-title or artquest.

If however you would still like to submit a specific idea, then please follow these guidelines:

  • All proposals should be sent to Please do not send proposals directly to members of staff.
  • Please start your email with the name of the team you are interested in contacting (Exhibitions, Live or Education).
  • A proposal should include the following: a description of a the project; a description of who you are making this piece for (who is your audience); an outline of how your project would be funded; and an outline of your technical requirements. The proposal should not exceed 2 sides of A4. 

Please remember that we receive a large volume of proposals and it is therefore not possible to respond to them all. We will only be able to respond to those that are appropriate for our programme.
