Mark Hudson creates books, prints and letterpress ephemera. His work explores notions of place, history, journeys and language. The artist uses maps, photographs and various printmaking techniques, including letterpress, and often with gilding and found materials. Much of the artist's work has explored the history and language of Birmingham, the Black Country and the region’s links to the wider world. Through research and journeys Hudson tries to uncover forgotten, hidden or unexpected narratives. His latest books include cast sculptural elements, lead and handmade paper.
