Born in Ammanford and now lives in Llandeil, Carmarthenshire. Studied at Swansea College of Art 1950 - 54. Developed from naturalistic to abstract painting while working in the slate quarries of North Wales during the fifties. Worked in Paris and Provence during 1963. Awarded the Geoffrey Crawshay Memorial Travelling Scholarship. BBC broadcast - 'The significance of his painting in France'.
