Angela Sanders was born in Zurich in 1974 and is a visual anthropologist and video maker. She studied at the Universities of Zurich and Edinburgh, and recently graduated from the School of Arts, Lucerne with a Master of Art in the Public Sphere. Currently, Sanders works as a scientific assistant in the project Art and Tourism, based at HGK Lucerne, and in the KTI-Project And suddenly China! at Zurich Art School. In addition to her academic work, Sanders produces her own videos, including: Europlex (2003) and Estrecho Complex (in collaboration with Ursula Biemann), Domestic Scapes (2004) and Contested Space (2007) which was produced in the research project city_space_transitions. Sanders' latest video Amazing Europe (2007) focuses on Indian tourists and tourism employees and their imaginings of 'Switzerland'. She has also written a number of articles on the subject of gender, identity, film, and media, and -is part of the Radio School klipp & klang, where she is responsible for a Work and Education project for refugees.
