Sarah Vanhee is a Brussels based artist whose practice links to performance, visual art and literature via different formats. A feature of her work is that it is often created and recreated in situ as with Untitled presented at Mousonturm, Frankfurt and the Artefact festival in Leuven (BE).
Vanhee's work has been presented in various venues such as De Appel arts centre (Amsterdam), iDans (Istanbul), Centre Pompidou (Metz), Impulstanzfestival (Vienna) and the Van Abbe Museum (Eindhoven). She has published two books with Onomatopee (Eindhoven). She has been an artist in residence at Theater Frascati (Amsterdam), and is currently in residency at CAMPO (Ghent). In 2008 she was a resident at Cittadellarte/Fondazione Pistolleto, Biella (I). She also does coaching, teaching, and writes interviews and texts. Her work was nominated for the Ton Lutz prijs 2007 (honourable mention), Prix Jardin d'Europe (2010) and recently for the VSCD Mimeprijs 2012.
In 2011 Sarah created Turning Turning (a choreography of thoughts), in collaboration with two performers and a number of scholars from the fields of philosophy, neuro-linguistics, psychoanalysis, mathematics and performance theory. During 4 Days Sarah will continue to develop her work around this body of work.
