Zafos Xagoraris was born in 1963 in Athens, Greece, where he continues to live and work. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts, the National Technical University of Athens and at the Centre for Advanced Visual Studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Xagoraris has exhibited his work internationally; solo exhibitions include Zafos Xagoraris: Three Bells at the National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST), Athens (2003); and Zafos Xagoraris: Silencers and Amps at Galerie Francoise Heitsch, Munich (2005). Group exhibitions include Anthropogeography: The Human Figure at the Beginning of the Century at Frissiras Museum, Athens (2003); Plus Jamais Seuls at Le BF15, Lyon (2005); NowHere Europe: Tras:it. Moving Culture Through Europe at the National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC), Bucharest (2006); and 27ih Bienal de Sao Paulo at Fundagao Bienal de Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo (2006).
