Reading Room

With a comprehensive library of contemporary art books, magazines, DVDs of artist films and interviews, and a range of resources relating to our current programme, Arnolfini's Reading Room is a place to find out more about some of the ideas behind our exhibitions and events. We also house a complete collection of Arnolfini's programmes, going back to the founding of the organisation.

You are welcome to use the space for browsing, quiet personal study, or simply as a place to relax and reflect after a tour of the building. A member of staff is always on hand to assist you with access to the resources and any particular queries you may have. Free wi-fi is also available.

The Reading Room is also host to a range of discussion events designed to deepen our understanding of themes in Arnolfini's current programme. Utilising a range of learning methods - reading, writing and listening amongst them - we hope to use the work of our exhibiting artists as starting points to explore wider issues in contemporary culture.

You might also want to know about how to get more involved in the local arts scene, or be a student wanting help with an essay, or advice about pursuing a career in the arts - our Research Assistant, Phil Owen, is happy to help. Drop in to speak to him Wed to Sat, 2 - 6pm - contact details below. Or tweet him @finiphil.
