Ballast Seed Garden: The Emerald Isle (Ahaa!) with Michael Loader

Thursday 18 August 2016, 14:30 to 16:00

Join Michael Loader for a watery adventure on board the Ballast Seed Garden

Journey across the salty seaways of Bristol and beyond (in your imagination) with Captain Longlegs (who is losing his memory!) to the long lost Emerald Isle (might be dangerous!). Listen to a maritime mystery or two from the jabber of the Captain before reaching the island where clues, lost treasure and plants with miraculous properties will come together to create our very own tale of daring-doo and help Old Longlegs remember his past!

With Michael Loader of Somerset Storyfest.

Meet at Arnolfini Box Office

Located on Bristol’s historic harbour, just below Castle Park, the The Ballast Seed Garden was created by Maria Thereza Alves in June 2012. Constructed from a disused grain barge, the garden is populated with a variety of non-native plants, creating a living history of the city’s trade and maritime past.
