A guided cycle ride led by Sustrans and culminating at a special barbeque on The Downs by Oscar Tuazon’s sculpture Live Steam Shift Whistle.

A guided cycle between two fantastic artworks. Travel with Sustrans from the interactive play project of Assemble at Leigh Woods to artist Oscar Tuazon’s artwork on The Downs. Arnolfini staff will accompany the ride to tell you all about The Promise and answer any questions.

Experience and explore the natural free play area in Leigh Woods (National Trust), take part in a Tree Play workshop and add to the Spirit of Play ‘Tool kit’, before jumping on your bike and cycling to a Summer BBQ on The Downs, hosted by the Cowshed and cooked on Oscar Tuazon’s specially commissioned sculpture Live Steam Shift Whistle.

The ride, led by Sustrans staff and volunteers, will take you over the spectacular Bristol Suspension Bridge and along quiet residential roads.

Please meet at 2:30pm by the Rangers Hut (at the end of Valley Road) in Leigh Woods.

The ride is free but booking is essential.  Please book your space through Arnolfini Box Office in advance.

The ride will last a maximum of 1 ½ hours. Children are welcome if they are able riders, and accompanied by an adult.

Please bring a bike in safe working order and check the weather forecast in order to bring appropriate clothing.

This event is part of The Promise.
