Join Sustrans for a bike ride and learn about how communities have reclaimed the streets and improved cycling in the city.

This ride will take in the Dings home zone which demonstrates a community that have reclaimed their streets. Cycle on the Bristol to Bath path which has made use of a disused railway line to create one of the UK’s most popular cycling routes.

The ride will finish at St Anne’s Wood in Brislington which has recently undergone extensive, community-initiated improvements to the paths and entrances.

The ride will be led by Sustrans. The event will last a maximum of 2 hours, with around 50 minutes ‘in the saddle’. Meet at Arnolfini.

Children are welcome if they are able riders, and accompanied by an adult.

The ride is free but booking is essential.  Please book your space through Arnolfini Box Office in advance.

Please bring a bike in safe working order and check the weather forecast in order to bring appropriate clothing.

This event is part of The Promise. The Promise is an exhibition project that focuses on the relationship between a city’s design and the hopes and ambitions of its residents. Exhibitions and events will take place in the Arnolfini galleries and across the city of Bristol throughout the summer.
