Bristol Silents Present: South (U)

Saturday 25 September 2010, 22:00

With accompaniment from Stephen Horne & Readings by Paul McGann
£7.00/£5.00 Concs
Only slightly less miraculous than the eventual rescue of Ernest Shackleton's entire crew was the survival of incredible footage shot by Frank Hurley and later assembled into South, a gripping travelogue recently restored from surviving prints and original glass slides. This restored print is accompanied by Stephen Horne's multi-instrumental talents and Paul McGann reading extracts from Shackleton's diaries.
Dir. Frank Hurley, Australia/UK, 1919, 1h 28m
