Contemporary Poetry Tour
Arnolfini is proud to open this year’s Contemporary Poetry Tour with some of the finest voices on today’s poetry scene. The tour is part of a nationwide promotion centring on National Poetry Day, 4 October.
Poet and novelist Jacky Kay is the author of prize-winning collections including The Adoption Papers and Off Colour (Bloodaxe). Her first novel Trumpet (Picador) won the Guardian Fiction Prize 1998. Robert Minhinnick edits Poetry Wales Magazine. He has published collections including Hey Fatman and The Looters (Seren) and in 1999 won the Forward Poetry Prize for ‘Best Individual Poem’ for Twenty-Five Laments for Iraq. Dannie Abse is a poet, novelist and playwright. His novel A Poet in the Family is published by Pimlico to coincide with National Poetry Day. Pascale Petit is the editor of Poetry London. Her collection The Zoo Father will be published by Seren to coincide with the tour.
