CANCELLED: Educators CPD evening: Contemporary Art in the Classroom

Thursday 23 March 2017, 17:00 to 20:00

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances this event is being rescheduled to Thursday 25 May 2017. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Details for the May Event will be posted here shortly.

Join us for an evening of free, informal CPD, all educators are welcome, both for those working in formal and informal education.

This session will include some great creative activities that could be used in classrooms and workshops, led by artist Libita Clayton.

Libita Clayton is one of Arnolfini's artist educators and has been working with us to devise workshops that explore identity with schools groups. She graduated from Wimbledon College of Art (2009) Print and Digital Media BA (hons) and has since developed a collaborative practice playing with approaches to performance, black(ness) white(ness) and class(ness) on the dancefloor.

She is currently working on Tactical Interventions for the Diaspora Platform, Palazzo Pisani a Santa Marina, Venice.

The session will start with a private tour of our current exhibitions, The Stage a collaborative project with the Masters of Architecture course at UWE and the Performance Archive Displays. We would love to welcome you to join us to explore the themes in our programme.

We will also take some time to discuss what you are currently working on within your own contexts and to get to know other educators from Bristol and the surrounding areas. The event is informal and conversation-focused. Nibbles and wine will be provided!

This opportunity is open to all educators, across both formal and informal education. Email to reserve your place.
The event takes place at Arnolfini, 16 Narrow Quay, Bristol BS1 4QA
