Fine Arts Lecture Series: Organised By Fine Arts, University of the West Of England

Jamie Shovlin

Wed 3 Dec 6.00pm

£5.00 / £3.00 concs (Free for UWE Staff and Students with ID)

Jamie Shovlin is interested in the tension between reality and invention, history and memory. His painstakingly researched works merge inherently flawed systems and doubtful philosophical propositions with the seemingly objective status of the archive. With projects featuring a teenage girl’s drawings or a forgotten German noise band, Shovlin explores how information becomes authoritative and how it might be questioned.
