Floating Ballast Seed Garden Family Workshop

Saturday 29 August 2015, 14:30 to 16:00

Join artist Anna Francis for a hands on family workshop and visit to our Floating Ballast Seed Garden.

Join artist Anna Francis for a hands on workshop, using the Victorian Language of Plants to create your own artwork in response to the Floating Ballast Seed Garden and its ecology.

Anna will lead a hands on, clay based workshop, where we will create our own secret code using plants from the Ballast Seed Garden to make decorative plaques, using printing techniques with the plants to reveal a hidden message.

Anna Francis creates situations for herself, the public and other artists to explore places differently: often experimenting with leading and instruction by creating manuals, kits or leading guided tours. Anna's work often involves observing how space is being used; by humans, creatures and plants - and then creating interventions which underline this use, support it or extend it. Plants, flowers and green spaces in cities are a reoccurring feature.

The workshop is most suitable for ages 7+
