Goat Island Symposium: Creative Re-Use; the Body of Knowledge
This symposium will explore a range of creative and critical, practical and theoretical responses to the lively debate over the role of the performer in Live Art as a unique conductor, repository, translator and practitioner of knowledge in contemporary culture and the digital age.
Internationally renowned scholars and artists will join with Chicago-based Goat Island performance group to make provocative contributions to the symposium. Goat Island will also present a performative lecture and show their recent film It’s Aching Like Birds.
Presented as part of the Goat Island Summer School 2002. Supported by Arnolfini, Dance Services, the University of Bristol, and the Arts and Humanities Research Board
