Bristol Poetry Festival: Louis de Bernieres - Imagining Alexandria

Sunday 06 October 2013, 17:30 to 19:30

Celebrated novelist Louis de Bernieres returns to his first literary love with his debut collection of poetry Imagining Alexandria. Returning us to the vivid Mediterranean landscape of his fiction, his poems about the distant past, the erotic and the philosophical acknowledge a debt to the great Alexandrian poet C P Cavafy. Rachel Boast will read from her new collection Pilgrim’s Flower, and David Briggs will read from his new collection Rain Rider.

Bristol Poetry Festival presents a programme of readings, performances and poetry activities at Arnolfini and across the city bringing together a mix of the most entertaining, inspirational and award winning poets and performers from Bristol, the south west, the UK and beyond.
