Reading: Stewart Home and John Williams
Two provocative talents read from their new novels. Stewart Home’s 69 Things To Do With a Dead Princess (Canongate £9.99) draws on literary modern and recent continental philosophy and suggests that schizophrenia may well be the only sane response to capitalism. John William’s Cardiff Dead (Bloomsbury £6.99) paints an unforgettable picture of a new Wales, from developers’ boardrooms to prostitutes’ pubs and surfing beaches. A funeral brings the one-hit wonder 70s ska band, the Wurriyas, back together again. Stewart Home’s works include Blow Job (Serpent’s Tail) and Confusion Incorporated (Codex). He has written for Modern Painters, Art Monthly and Sleaze Nation. John Williams is the author of Faithless (Serpent’s Tail) and Five Pubs, Two Bars and a Nightclub (Bloomsbury).
