Seeta Patel presents a new full-length dance work produced during her time as Associate Dance Artist at Arnolfini. Inspired by the three central characters from the Indian epic The Ramayana, the work is an abstract, multimedia performance exploring the possible underlying relationship between Rama, Sita and Ravena. The characters are stripped of their divinity and mythological veneer to expose them as people with bodies, hearts and minds like ours, forced to face questions of duty, responsibility and fate.

Familiarise yourself with the story of the The Ramayana by attending one of three free screenings of Sita Sings The Blues on Fri 1 Oct at 5.30pm & Sat 2 Oct at 2.00pm & 5.00pm. Three shadow puppets narrate both ancient tragedy and a modern comedy in this beautifully animated interpretation.
