Arnolfini Podcast: Imagine New Rules - Episode 1

Tune in to our first podcast from a series with new Arnolfini director Claire Doherty imagining an arts centre for the future, and for Bristol, with invited guests.

Arnolfini is embarking on a new chapter in 2018. It's time to tear up the rulebook which says arts centres have to look or feel a certain way. It's time to reimagine what Arnolfini might be in the future by inventing some new rules.

Over the coming weeks, Claire will be joined by artists, producers and cultural leaders to discuss the dynamic new forms of arts organisation emerging and to reimagine the role of cultural institutions.

In this first podcast, Claire reflects on the opportunity to reimagine arts organisations of the future as catalysts for the imagination and social change.

Future podcast guests will include visionary artists, directors and individuals who are spearheading a new movement of arts organisations which are playing active civic roles in their home towns and cities.

Next week on Thursday 28 September Claire will be joined by curator and writer Edson Burton (Come the Revolution), with new podcasts then available fortnightly each Thursday afternoon.

The 'Imagine New Rules' podcast is recorded by Tom Mercer.

Join us in reimagining the new rules for a place for the arts in Bristol. Visitors to Arnolfini will be invited to contribute their own new rules for a 21st century place for the arts on the second floor of the space and online #newrules.
