Stand Up, Stand Out

IBT17 Bristol International Festival consistently moves the benchmark higher and this year is no exception. With just a few weeks to go, Helen Cole, Artistic Director & CEO of In Between Time gives us a flavour of what's to come...

"As 2017 kicks into life, there’s only a few weeks to go until our festival arrives. Auditions are done, artists are gathering, tickets are selling and audiences will soon arrive from all over Bristol, the UK and the world.

So why, more than ever, would we invite you to join us for IBT17 Bristol International Festival?

At IBT17 you will witness perspectives you have not considered. You will hear strong voices of belief and conviction. You will be seduced by real, visceral experiences. You will be invited to step into someone else’s shoes. This is the power of art and indeed the job of a festival. To be warm and open in our welcome and to be urgent and alive in the stories we tell.

IBT Bristol International Festival has been made in the face of a world in crisis; a world turned upside down. The programme does not ignore these realities and the voices it creates. We are proud to be playing host to the art and ideas of artists that call out for change. Amongst the world’s brightest, IBT17 uncompromisingly offers strong bodies, bright minds and new ways of seeing. Unwavering in our commitment to question order old and new, we together articulate the hopes, uncertainties and injustices of our world.

IBT17, invites you to stand with us and together we can change"
