Offsite - Bristol Museum & Art Gallery: Mexican Day of the Dead

Sunday 29 October 2017, 10:00 to 16:30

Pay what you think

Join Bristol Museum & Art Gallery for their annual Day of the Dead celebrations – the Mexican festival where families gather to remember their dead.

Across Latin America, the dead are honoured on las Dias de los Muertos, when families remember their ancestors.

Bristol Museum & Art Gallery will be building a shrine to the dead, and celebrating with music and dance. Join the craft workshops, make your own Day of the Dead mementos, get your face painted as a skull and take a selfie with La Catrina.

You can also add your memories and photos of loved ones to the colourful ofrenda (shrine), learn about traditional Día de los Muertos celebrations and take part in a puppet show in the Assyria gallery.
