Art in Motion (AIM)

Art in Motion (AIM) is a Bristol based not-for-profit organisation that supports artists with learning disabilities to access and participate in contemporary art.

We have a specific focus on heritage, the built environment and sense of place, and work together on research-led projects that enable our artists to develop their skills, knowledge and creative practices.

As an artists’ organisation our intention is to demonstrate a high standard of creative work within a strong framework of good practice. We seek to create a platform for people with learning disabilities to share their work through exhibitions, presentations and screenings.

Since 2015 five artists from AIM have been part of Expanding Realities, a European Erasmus + partnership between GASP Cork, Debajo del Sombrero Madrid and Art in Motion (AIM) Bristol. These three dynamic organisations have come together to support the creative development of artists with learning disabilities through creative engagement.

Recent exhibitions include:

Somewhere in the City – Arnolfini - Bristol 2015

Perception 2016 - Crawford Art gallery– Cork, Ireland 2016
