I hate to say it but some of us have been showing our age with this celebration of the lo-fi, DIY punk aesthetic of the late 70s. Edited by Jon Savage and Stuart Baker and with contributors such as Peter Saville from Factory Records and Gee Vaucher, who created the distinctive artwork for Crass, this is a brilliant and informative visual cross-section of some of the best singles covers of the time. From Richard Hell to Iggy Pop and Siouxsie and the Banshees to Subway Sect taking in a few waifs and strays from the nascent electronic scene with early Human League and Tubeway Army.  

You can't go far wrong with a book that includes Swindon's own XTC but sadly no mention of the Diagram Brothers. You can't have everything but this is as close as it gets...
