Anti-bodies explores different attitudes to ‘the body’, contrasting the particularity of the artist’s body-concept against the ideal ‘body-machine’ of the Olympic athlete, so revealing underlying idealisations of the body as they are reproduced within different everyday social contexts. Running until 2012, Anti-bodies encourages critical engagement with international contemporary art in the wider social realm through a series of projects produced by arts organisations based in south west England; the website and interaction programme. Curators and producers from Arnolfini, Kurator, Plymouth Arts Centre, ProjectBase, Spacex and amino introduce their ideas, with responses from Dr. Paul Darke (Artist-Producer), Lois Keidan (Director of the Live Art Development Agency), Keith Khan (former Head of Culture London 2012), and Dr. Paul O’Neill (GWR Research Fellow, Situations).

Anti-bodies is co-ordinated by Relational, supported by Arts Council England, and has been granted the London 2012 Inspire mark.
