Whether it be via the releases of his first three albums under Apparat, through the music of electronic supergroup Moderat, or collaborations with other music greats such as Ellen Allien, Berlin artist Sascha Ring's restless presence within the field of electronic music is unavoidable. On new album The Devil's Walk, his first for Mute Records Sascha has transcended both his love for techno to produce an orchestral work, driven by fervent emotion rather than mechanical rhythm. Together they are suggestive of the progression from studio computer production to this, Apparat's first tour with a live band, his melancholic vocal supplementing guitars, keyboards and drums.
