George Shaw
Made using Airfix model enamel paint, George Shaw’s paintings have a haunting
innocence. He depicts the places around where he lived as a child – his housing
estate and the surrounding countryside and they are as much about what has been
forgotten and swept away as they are about what is remembered. George Shaw’s
work can be seen in Days Like These at Tate Britain, February – May 2003,
and Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, August 2003.
