Boat Tour Led by a University of Bristol Botanic Garden Volunteer Guide

Includes an introduction to the botanical background of the Floating Ballast Seed Garden. Your tour host will explain the principles behind the design, how the plants are raised, established, introduce the plant species and explain how the display will be developed in the future.

Share your photos with us or tell us what you think @arnolfiniarts #ballastseed.

Wet weather

Rain showers are forecast for the boat tour. Please note the ferry journey to/from the Floating Garden is sheltered; waterproofs or umbrellas are advised for touring the Floating Garden.

Visitors are able to view the garden from Castle Park and via Arnolfini's boat tours and events.
Arnolfini is working with the Bristol Ferry Boat Company to programme fully accessible ferry boats for Arnolfini's events series. However, due to the offsite nature and location of the Floating Garden, at present the installation is not fully accessible. Please contact Arnolfini Box Office regarding accessibility on the Floating Garden installation: or  0117 917 2300.
