Build a Cardboard Speaker Sound System

Sunday 31 July 2016, 11:00 to 15:00
Free

Collectively build, create and construct an expanding cardboard speaker sound system out on the harbourside.

This activity is suitable for all ages to join in and will include a variety of printing, drawing and making methods to create speakers large and small to form a giant speaker stack.

The end of the session will be marked by a participatory protest performance where the speakers will come alive with live music from Charismatic Megafauna where you can join them to ‘smash the system!’

The session will be led by Eleanor Vonne Brown who is the founder of X Marks the Bökship - a nomadic bookshop and project space for independent publishers previously based at Matts Gallery, London. It specialises in small press publications by artists and designers, promoting contemporary publishing activity through book launches, events and production resources that bring together individual practitioners to create a local publishing community.
