Charlie Morrissey
The body is the container of its experiences, its history is held within muscles and bones, nerves, cells, and brain. Choreographer Charlie Morrissey returns to Arnolfini after last year’s The Smallest Room and his work with Guangdong Dance Company in May. Line is a performance installation which integrates dance, video projection, lighting and an original sound score to explore the individual’s relationship to their own personal history. Using documentary footage, it questions the role that the past can play in the present – the past as a place which exists to be constantly revisited and as a phenomenon with a will and a function of its own. Created in collaboration with sound artist Brian Duffy and lighting designer John Varah.
