CONTEMPORARY POETRY TOUR 2004
GREAT WOMEN POETS
Nina Cassian, Carol Ann Duffy, Elaine Feinstein and Liz Lochhead
This year’s Contemporary Poetry Tour features Romanian poet Nina Cassian of whom the Literary Review writes, “Epic, intense, scorching poems of loss and love … there is no one else like her.” Accompanied by two of our most skilful poets Elaine Feinstein, “a subtle, poignant poet” (George Steiner) and irreverent, funny and ferocious Liz Lochhead, this is a real feast of delights. Carol Ann Duffy, one of our most successful and best-loved poets, who will introduce the poets and read from her latest collection Feminine Gospels, will add to this hugely rewarding experience.
