Don Byron
More Music for Six Musicians
Consistently voted best clarinettist by critics and readers in leading international music journals Byron has created a unique musical aesthetic in a wide range of contexts. As composer, arranger and social critic he redefines every genre of music he performs, be it classical, salsa, hip-hop, funk, klezmer or any area of jazz from swing and bop to cutting-edge downtown improvisation. This tour again finds Byron in the company of his longest-standing unit, Music for Six Musicians, paying tribute to the Latin and Afro-Caribbean rhythms at his musical roots. Last seen in Bristol in 1998 with his highly acclaimed Nu-Blaxpoitation project this is a rare opportunity to catch this brilliant musician in a red hot Latin-rooted sextet.
