Educators CPD evening: Contemporary Art in the Classroom

Tuesday 17 October 2017, 17:00 to 20:00

Join us and artist Phil Root for an evening of free, informal CPD. All educators are welcome, both for those working in formal and informal education.

This event is now fully booked, however if you are interested please get in touch and we will add your name to the waiting list.

The session will start with a private tour of Grayson Perry: The Most Popular Art Exhibition Ever! where we will discuss how the works and the themes in the exhibition can be explored in the classroom.

This will be followed by a collaborative clay workshop with Bristol based artist, Phil Root, who will talk us through creative activities that could be used in classrooms and workshops.

In 2011 during a residency at Wysing Arts Centre, Phil Root co-founded The Grantchester Pottery with artist Giles Round. He has most recently exhibiting work at NADA in New York, Serpentine Gallery, Camden Arts Centre, Whitechapel Art Gallery, Jerwood Visual Arts, ICA in London and Spacex, Exeter.

From 7pm onwards, we then invite you to get to know other educators and talk about what you are currently working on. This is an informal and conversation-focused workshop, wine and nibble will be provided!

This opportunity is open to all educators, across both formal and informal education.

Email to reserve your place and please send through your name and a contact number.

The event takes place at Arnolfini, 16 Narrow Quay, Bristol BS1 4QA
