Future Forward is a free portfolio and arts advisory service for 16 – 25 year olds.

Who is it for?
If you are aged 16 to 25 and have some interest in the sort of work Arnolfini programmes, and a desire to find out more about how to pursue a future in the contemporary arts this service is for you. You don’t have to be in formal education (though students are very welcome), or even be 100% sure whether or not you want to be an artist!

What should you expect?
This session is 1:1 for 30 minutes with Vickie Fear, Programme Assistant at Plymouth Arts Centre and Co-Director of Hand in Glove in Bristol. Vickie is an artist based in Plymouth with an interest in performative visual art. She also co-ordinates PAC Home; a programme of events and opportunities for artists in Devon and Cornwall. The session will be relaxed and informal, and will take place in Arnolfini’s Reading Room.

What do we need from you?
The more information you are able to provide your advisor, the better they will be able to help you. You don’t need to bring along a portfolio of work – though it might be helpful if you have one – but do have a think about the questions you have before you arrive. For example, you might want careers advise, information about funding opportunities, help choosing a course, how to show your work, etc. Focus on your priorities, and what you would most like to get out of the session.
