Happy Families: the conversations we’re not having about adoption

Saturday 23 September 2017, 18:30 to 19:30

Guest Event: A unique oral communication performance looking at some of the issues associated with child protection and adoption - informing public debate

Can we make happy families?  Can we impose identity on a child?  Do we need to ‘rescue’ children or should we be trying to support unhappy families?  What is really at the heart of our child protection system and adoption and why aren’t we talking about this?

This event is an oral communication performance looking at some of the issues associated with child protection and adoption.

The Performer

Sarah Phillimore, a Family Law Barrister at St John’s Chambers, Bristol, UK, is a well known campaigner for transparency and honesty in the necessary debate about child protection.
