In Blue Skies: The Experience of Experiments
Chaired by Sian Ede, Arts Director at the Calouste-Gulbenkian Foundation, this day is for anyone interested in dialogues between artists and scientists. Six artists, musicians and scientists will explore the nature of experiment, drawing links between their ideas and The Silk Purse Procedure. Sound artist and composer Paul Schutze’s lecture will transform before our ears. Joao Magueija, cosmologist, will present his research into the speed of light and the shape of time. Geoff Cox, Mike Phillips and Chris Speed (STAR, Plymouth University) will explore the nature of hypothesis. Artist and performer Tim Millar will be re-creating his table-top experiments. Organised in collaboration with The Interalia Centre.
In Blue Skies is followed by the opening of Antony Hall’s new exhibition at Station and 32,000 Points of Light at Arnolfini (Please note capacity for 32,000 Points of Light is limited and advance booking is recommended. Conference ticket holders gain free admission to both of these events
