Luke Jerram

The Dream Director

The Dream Director, created by artist Luke Jerram, explores sleep as a creative location for artistic experience; a space where imagination is less constrained. Over the last six months Luke Jerram has been creating an installation that invites audiences to a collective sleepover during which their REM is detected. This triggers sounds which in turn affect and influence their dreams.

Two events provide an opportunity for audiences to experience The Dream Director for themselves, to influence its development and to hear more about the work and the ideas behind it.

In addition, a presentation by artist, curator and new Director of FACT Mike Stubbs, alongside filmmaker and researcher Gina Czarnecki, will respond to and discuss the work within a wider contemporary art context.
