Metropolis (PG)

Shortly after its release, an entire quarter of Lang's original was cut by its US and German distributors. The cut footage was recently discovered in a small museum in Buenos Aires. This, the complete film, is shown for the questions it raises about the mortality of the cinematic medium, and the folding of time enacted by archives, as much as for its still astounding rendering of an industrial city-state
of the future.
Dir. Fritz Lang, Germany, 1927, reconstructed & restored 2010, 2h 25m, Subtitled
