Embracing Hawaiian slide guitar from his childhood in the 1960s, Bhattacharya invented a unique style of Hindustani slide guitar and has been mesmerising audiences and artists for over four decades with his unique blend of Indian ragas and western styles.
Bhattacharya’s acclaimed albums include Slide Guitar Ragas from Dusk Till Dawn and Hawaii To Calcutta: A Tribute to Tau Moe, which was Songlines Album of the Year in 2017.
Twice Grammy nominated, a Songlines and BBC Award winner, Debashish has also collaborated with the world’s best musicians, including Ravi Shankar, Zakir Hussain, John McLaughlin, Jerry Douglas and Derek Trucks.
The Debashish Bhattacharya trio features the mesmerising vocals of Anandi Bhattacharya. Anandi released her debut album Joys Abound in 2018 to widespread critical acclaim and was nominated for a Songlines Award in 2019.
