PERFORMANCE | We Are F***ed

Friday 31 August 2018 to Saturday 01 September 2018, 19:30 to 20:30

Presented by MAYK, created by leading Bristol artist Jo Bannon, developed with the support of Arnolfini. "Jo’s work is expertly edited; it is both a joy and a treasure." (Exeunt)

Three women as f***ing objects. Three women f***ing objects. In a relentless game of in and out, up and down, push and pull, stuttering arias, penetrating air, they are constructing a power house. They are women, winning.

Soft flesh contends with hard metal as vibrating bodies and hysterical voices attempt to unseat the hidden interior of anxiety, daily exertion and relentless penetration.

As they vibrate, our gaze on them is shaken, each time we look, what we’re seeing shifts. It is both ecstatic and excruciating, euphoric and unforgiving.

We Are F***ed is a new performance work by leading UK artist Jo Bannon exploring desire, sexuality and neoliberalism, interrogating the modern feminist experience of personal, psychological and political penetration.
