Perry's Shorts and Perry's Tours

Wednesday 01 November 2017 to Saturday 02 December 2017, 16:00

Perry's Shorts is an intergenerational project where pupils from Ashton Park School, older people and PECo Theatre Company will work together to create a piece of work in response to our Grayson Perry exhibition.

The piece will be shared on 2 December. This is complimented with tours of the exhibition, especially for older people. Participants who have attended the tours will be invited to watch the sharing.

Currently, across the globe there is an initiative to make the world Age Friendly and Bristol has signed up to work towards this end, launching it's charter in June 2017. For this to be achieved, it is essential that cultural institutions, such as Arnolfini, commit to becoming Age Friendly as well.

This project is the first step that Arnolfini is taking in this mission: inviting older people to come and create with us, to make friends and work with pupils who are looking to learn from them.

With a new chapter on the horizon in 2018, it is the perfect time for Arnolfini to make connections with new partners, such as Bristol Ageing Better and older people and we look forward to new conversations and ideas.

More information about the Age Friendly initiative can be found at

PECo Theatre Company is well known in Bristol for creating community based work, working intergenerationally as well as responding to place. They will work with the older people and pupils to create the work.
