Opening with a new 20,000 word essay on walking from Heathrow to New York, Psychogeography (Bloomsbury £17.99) presents a selection of fifty of Will Self’s Psychogeography columns from the Independent accompanied by specially commissioned artwork by Ralph Steadman. Originating with Guy Debord and the Situationists in 1960s Paris, the term psychogeography has been loosely used to cover a range of disciplines investigating the relationship between the personal psyche and place.
