Arnolfini’s Summer Music Series brings you a night of improvised sounds, dream-pop and spoken word.

Yama Warashi (meaning a small child-like spirit which lives in the mountains) is formed by Bristol-based Japanese artist Yoshino Shigihara with eclectic band members.

Her music has a dreamy evocative sound with a shadow of moon cake, inspired by Japanese folk dance music, Bon Odori (盆踊り), free jazz and African music with a slice of electric psychedelia.

Join us as Yoshino plays keyboard, percussion, and sings songs in her mother tongue about mycelium, nuclear power station and broken O.

Arnolfini’s Summer Music Series is a live broadcast with you at the centre. Join us, Thursday nights through June, July, and into August. Bristol’s artists play with new ideas, side project, and live experiments – a showcase of leading local talents whose names are known across the globe.

At Arnolfini Cafe/Bar, on our sunlit Harbourside Plaza.
