About Paul O’Dowd

Paul’s interests sit at the intersection of art and technology, and the relationship between intelligence, movement and authenticity.  Paul’s cross-disciplinary approach is reflected in his prior endeavours. He completed a PhD in 2013 in Swarm Robotics, which drew influence from self-organising biology, evolutionary computation and theory of mind. He co-founded Rusty Squid Ltd in 2012, an award winning Bristol based start-up that merges robotic technologies with the visual and performing arts.

About Peter Walters

Peter has an academic and professional background in Industrial Design. Since 2007 he has been employed as a Research Fellow within the Centre for Fine Print Research, UWE Bristol. His research explores intersections between design, 3D printing and smart materials. He enjoys collaborating with researchers and practitioners in other disciplines, from fine art to engineering and robotics.  Peter is a tutor for MA Design and he also supervises research students in art and design practice.
