The Royal Mail Special Stamps programme is something of a British institution. For over 50 years now the Royal Mail has commissioned some of the UK’s best creatives, designers, illustrators and artists to create these miniature works of art. A commemoration of all things British from science to art, history to popular culture – the eclectic stamp programme never fails to surprise and delight philatelists and the general public alike.

Few people are privy to the creative process involved in the making of British stamps. We’re delighted to welcome the Royal Mail design team to Bristol – Head of Design Marcus James and Design Managers Catharine Brandy and Dean Price will talk us through the process, from initial designs to final artwork. This is a very special behind the scenes presentation, revealing the craft and attention to detail that goes into creating these mini masterpieces.

Join us for a very special pre-Christmas event at Arnolfini. The discussion will be chaired by our own Jamie Ellul – whose agency Supple Studio has worked regularly with Royal Mail over the years.
