During the 1981-82 season Welsh National Opera will perform 4 weeks at the Bristol Hippodrome, a total of 20 performances of 10 different operas.
The series of workshops at the Arnolfini has proved a popular success, giving audiences an opportunity to learn from performers and experts about all aspects of opera, specifically related to the season's repertory. Since their inception five years ago the workshops have been supported by Imperial Tobacco Limited
The workshop on "Fidelio" is led by Anthony Negus, with Maria Moll, soprano, and Jeffrey Lawton tenor. Mr. Negus will approach "Fidelio" from both the musical and production angles and will examine some of the intriguing issues raised by Beethoven's mixture of politics and art.
